Textile Designer & Merchandiser
Build the fabric and print language a JADE collection is designed around, then keep it real across seasons.
Position
Every JADE collection starts with fabric - the print, the texture, the weight a design is built to move in. This role owns that layer: sourcing and developing textiles, building the seasonal colour and swatch story, and staying close enough to production that what's approved on paper survives contact with a factory floor.
You'll also spend real time outside Mumbai - scouting and managing rural karigars and craft clusters JADE works with directly, not just approving swatches that arrive by courier.

Job responsibilities
- Develop new textile designs, prints and patterns aligned to each season's collection brief
- Source and evaluate fabrics, maintaining a working swatch library vendors and design can pull from
- Build and curate seasonal colour palettes, keeping consistency across fabric types and dye lots
- Work with the sample and production teams to get approved textiles into real garments without quality drift
- Scout and manage rural karigar clusters directly - sourcing new craftsmen, not just placing orders
Profile
- 2-5 years in textile design, print development, or fabric sourcing, ideally in fashion or couture
- Comfortable evaluating fabric quality hands-on, not just from a spec sheet
- Some exposure to Indian embroidery and weaving traditions (banarasi, brocade, raw silk and similar)
- Willing to travel for sourcing and karigar visits
- Based in or willing to relocate to Mumbai
